There are so many recipes on the internet if you google Whole30. So I’ve done a Recipe Round-Up: My Favorite Whole30 Recipes to save you the time and energy. Now all you have to do is start cooking!
I’m an all or nothing kind of person. So 4 years ago when I decided to follow a Paleo lifestyle to relieve inflammation in my body, I did a Whole30. It’s like Paleo, but on steroids. Not only do you eliminate wheat, dairy, soy and legumes, but Whole30 has you eliminate all sweets, treats, sugar and Paleo versions of these favorite foods like paleo pancakes (even when made with just banana and eggs), brownies and even smoothies. Why would you eliminate all of these amazing treats, even if they’re made with whole ingredients? Because your body doesn’t know the difference between a pancake made with eggs and banana or one made with coconut flour, maple syrup, banana and eggs. Both are whole foods in the form of a breakfast treat so the way you think about food and your habits don’t change. Whole30 has you examine your habits – why you eat, when you eat and how you eat. This forces you to change your habits, stop snacking because your bored and find the pleasure in real food.
After my first Whole30 in 2013 I learned that I craved dessert after dinner because it was a routine and not because I really wanted it. I also ate mindlessly when I was bored or stressed at work, not because I was actually hungry. Whole30 taught me a lot and I have done many Whole30’s since and have adapted a whole foods way of eating ever since.
If you google Whole30 recipes, pages upon pages of recipes appear and now clean eating becomes overwhelming! So i started keeping track of all of my favorite recipes and now whenever I need inspiration, I have an amazing list to turn to. I also send this list to all of my friends and family when they embark on a Whole30 – whether it’s their first one or not, everyone needs a little inspiration!
I have my list saved as a draft in my email folder and I am constantly adding to it. It’s fun to look back and see what I was craving and eating throughout the years and revisiting old recipes that I haven’t made in a long time.
So now I’m sharing that list with you. Even if you’re not doing a Whole30, this list is some of my favorite recipes on the internet that I have found and cooked throughout the years.
